Overview:
The Company
The company is a market leading provider of assisted living accommodation across the UK. Based in the North West they operate throughout the UK supporting local authorities with their vulnerable accommodation needs. They have a proven track record delivering projects to assist with the growing demand on a national basis. Due to the increased workload, they are now looking to add a Building Surveyor to the team.
Duties
* Ownership and management of projects from concept through design to estimating.
* Undertaking project administration as required.
* Managing your own workload along with the team, working to deadlines.
* Assigning property surveys to building surveyors.
* Liaise with Senior Management Team to deliver company and group objectives;
* Liaise with Business Development Team Leader regarding all property referrals;
* Monitor building surveyors ensuring arrive and leave properties safely via agreement communication;
* Maintain the property referral management tracker database;
* Management and reporting of building surveying activity;
* Monitor and anticipate property pipeline workload;
* Programme, coordinate and prioritise building surveys;
* Provide accurate and concise building reports, in relation to condition of properties and accuracy of cost estimates;
* Qualify whether the property is fit for purpose;
* Carry out desk top studies of sites and property, obtaining due diligence information including, but not limited to the class use, extent of site/ boundaries, form of construction, current condition, provide concept design and high-level costs and profit analysis;
* Review any / all building control and planning history, including findings of the desktop report.
* Check and approve building survey reports and design drawings;
* Liaise with M&E team where required to ensure property requirements are fully understood;
* Raise any issues of non-compliance.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
For this role you must possess the following;
* Degree qualified
* RICS Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) or shortly about to sit the APC
* Ability to deal with people at varying levels
* Excellent IT skills including electronic survey methods
* A team player
* Have a collaborative approach, and will have experience of working within teams, as well as operating under his or her own initiative
