Rate £350 - £400 a day - Limited

A Tier 1 Rail Contractor are seeking a Senior Rail Planner for a multi-disciplinary, high profile rail project in Newcastle.
The role will be site based, and you will be supporting the Framework Manager Planning Manager ensuring planning team outputs are consistent in their approach.
You will communicate with the design and construction teams, leading them through the client's project deliverables.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Able to translate Primavera programmes into other media for clear communication on project deliverables - i.e., PowerPoint/Excel
* Fully conversant in detailed programme deliverables - ability to challenge/maintain the programme with contingency planning
* Expected to understand the full Network Rail GRIP process (Governance for Railway Investment Projects) and project development - GRIP 2 through to construction hand-back in GRIP 6, 7 and 8
* Assist proposals team on selected tenders with tender programmes and methodologies - attend and support mid-tender and post-tender interviews
* Ability to create a new programme from drawings and within the boundaries of contract documentation requirements i.e., contract completion/service dates/WBS structure in relation to GRIP/possession calendars or other access limitations
* Ability to analyse progress updates and assess impacts - logically review construction sequences
* Ability to interrogate programme logic and re-programme if necessary
* Ability to relate KPI's and forecasts to Network Rail KPI requirements with consistency
Essential Requirements
* Fully competent in use of Primavera
* Fully conversant in NEC programmes clause 31/32 etc
* Good level of multi-disciplinary rail knowledge
* Good schedule adherence skills (Primavera)
